Finding An Excellent Restaurant In Pau
I have just relocated to Pau and love it. Even so, as with any new home, there are some things you have to search for and discover as a high priority and a good restaurant in Pau was at the top of my list of things to search.After you have a roof over your head and cozy bed the next step is to organise quality of life. In my books, quality of life is seen by 2 things; company and food (with a glass of wine of course). I also learn that the two often go together. A good meal is always improved if you are in proper company, just as good company will often lead to the discovery and experience of many good meals.
So, how did I initiate my search for a good restaurant in Pau? Well, I started with the bars. I wanted to be familiar with what kind of people lived here. I wanted to understand who were the driving force of the market. I needed to know if I was in a town of old people who frequented cafes or is a town driven by live music and social life which roared during the early hours. The great, as well as surprising news, is that I found everything. Literally, for instance, the Boulevard des Pyrenees. If you sit outside of any of these bars for an entire day and evening, (which of course I have made) you will notice representatives of every age and rank of the Pau life.
So then I had to decide what to try first. A short chat with the bar man provided me a bit of a feel for the place. He was English and had stayed here for 5 years. He was warm and pleasing and informed me everything from the best places to take a girl on a first date, down to the ideal areas for a hangover cure.
I soon realised that I did not really want to check every restaurants of Pau alone, therefore I loitered in the bar a little longer, wondering how I was going to build a social group. However, while I was wondering, it was being built for me. The bar man finished his turn at 9, and was meeting a couple of pals, before I knew it was were all sitting in a small Italian in the middle of the old town.
These guys have become my best friends in Pau and together we have tried everything from the pubs to the Michelin star restaurants, and this is where I found my way to a great restaurant in Pau. Like what I've said, great company and good restaurants go together.
