Leverage On Long Tail Keywords When Researching The Market
You will discover many ways to make a living online. However it doesn't matter which route you pick, it all begins with market analysis. You have to find a group of buyers who have a common difficulty or desire. Then all you have to do is sell them stuff that solve the problem or meet the need.Market research can be divided into two elements - choosing a profitable niche along with finding long tail search phrases within that niche. The good news is that there are many no cost resources available to be able to do this. Some of the best resources are provided by Google itself. So the first thing to do is sign up for an account with Google. After you have completed that, visit Google's search-based keyword tool at www.Google.com/sktool. Key in the words 'buy, purchase, order, get' (without quote marks) into the search field. The sktool will list out 800 words or terms that contain these buying key phrases along with other helpful data such as level of competition, searches per month etc. All you need to do is pick the term that you believe is most suitable for yourself, ideally one that has at least 2,500 searches per month.
After that, mouse click on the icon that looks like a magnifying glass alongside the search term that you have chosen. This will take you to Google Insights for Search, one more free tool from Google at www.Google.com/insights. It will automatically lookup the phrase that you have chosen and create the relevant information at Google insights. Scroll down to the bottom part of the page and you will see other similar search phrases. Take note of all the related search phrases that you find.
At this point you would have about 10 buying keyword terms in a particular market. This simply suggests that there are actually people looking for information to solve a problem or meet a need in this niche. Next, you will need to research further into how large a market this niche is and find more keyword ideas.
Go to amazon.com, ebay.com, magazines.com and clickbank.com. Put the major keyword associated with the niche into the search area and see if there are products that are shown in these websites within this niche. Chances are you will find products in just about all these websites related to your niche. Briefly evaluate some of the products for suggestions - both keyword ideas and product ideas. The next step is to uncover long tail keywords.
To accomplish this, head to Google's external keyword tool at https://adwords.Google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal. Enter in your 10 keywords and it will produce a list of related keywords. Take note of the keyword phrases with at least 3 words in them (long tail keywords) and also which produce at least 2,500 queries per month.
Next go to the Google search engine at www.Google.com and type in the main keyword in quote marks. While you are typing, Google will present you with related search terms. Take note of the long tail keywords. As soon as you hit the search button, Google will list out all the websites related to your search phrase (this is referred to as the SERP or Search Engine Results Page). Take note of the number of websites shown (it is listed at the top right hand part of the page). You are aiming for keywords with a maximum of 1,000,000 websites. If it is significantly larger than 1 million, then the keyword will be too competitive. Carry out the same thing with all of the keywords that you have and choose those which have got fewer than 1 million competing websites.
For each of the search phrases you type into Google, take a look at the bottom of the SERP and you will find more suggested related keywords. Click on them and you can get a lot more keywords. Drill down into the keywords as far as you can till you find long tail keywords with less than 1 million competing websites.
If you have done your market research good enough, you will at this point have identified a niche that has ready purchasers and the long tail keywords (about 10 will do) they use in order to lookup in the search engine for facts on a product to purchase. The next step would be Product Researching and Generation which will be dealt with in the next article.
